Upcoming Events:
Here we go again. The Academy Awards will be held at the Kodak Theater on Sunday, February 26, 2012. The streets around the Kodak Theatre will be closed up to one week prior to the event. As the day gets closer those closures will expand. Check the local papers for closures that will affect your area.
Crime Trends:
Welcome 2012. I hope everyone had a nice holiday season. The New Year has already started off busy, we have had a couple burglaries scattered throughout the hills during the holiday season. The main entry was an unlocked rear door and smashed windows. They concentrate on cash, jewelry and small electronic devices, also spare sets of keys. Do not leave keys around labeled to what they go to, (other homes, business, vehicles etc.) Protect yourself and valuables by arming your alarms and having check-ups on your systems. Take photos, document serial numbers of all your property and keep a record somewhere safe. Home safes are a deterrent, provided you have them installed so they can’t be removed easily. Remember, that short drive to the store, school, running an errand is usually when they hit. Make sure to set your home alarms. As well as, not leaving any valuables in your vehicles, anything in plain sight can be tempting for a thief.
Remember, trash pick-up days in your neighborhood may attract unwanted individuals seeking recyclables which may lead to theft of your personal property. Please be alert of all suspicious individuals and/or vehicles in your neighborhood. If you see any suspicious activity, please forward me this information via e-mail at 30735@lapd.lacity.org.
Again, I send out an open invitation to have your property inspected. Watch out after each other and keep me informed.
If you are having a party, please be considerate of your neighbors. If you are confronted with loud parties, you can call 1-877-ASK-LAPD and then send me an e-mail at 30735@lapd.lacity.org. Include the address or location of where the loud party is; estimated number of guests and main complaint.
