Greetings on a Friday!

The Councilmember moved to note and file a proposal to place a parcel tax on the November ballot
to generate funds to re-institute library hours that were eliminated because of budget cuts.
He felt the cost of putting the measure on the ballot - $4 million - was prohibitive in this
economic climate.

Tom joined Hollywood seniors in welcoming Pat Boone to the Las Palmas Senior Center on Pat Boone
Day. The seniors watched "State Fair," the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic in which Boone
starred, and were treated to a question-answer session with the star after the screening.

The Councilmember led about 100 cyclists through the hills of Griffith Park and the LA River on
Wednesday on the fifth night of Tour LaBonge, his annual bike series. Please join Tom next Wednesday
night for the FINAL RIDE. We will leave from the Hollywood Field Office, 6501 Fountain Ave. at
5:30 p.m. for a gentle 10-mile ride through Hollywood.
For more information, see this flier.

Have a great weekend, and continue to enjoy and love Los Angeles!
