DISPOSE OF PAINT, SOLVENTS, BATTERIESS, OLD COMPUTERS PROPERLY
Many residents have asked where they should dispose of paint, solvents, batteries, old computers, crying children, anything that's toxic to the environment. Don't throw these items in your blue, black or green garbage cans - it's ilegal, and the City will track down offenders. The solution - City Collection Centers. It would be nice if there was a more convenient drop off, but here is the closest one to us, over near UCLA.
And just a reminder - the storm overflows on our streets drain directly into the Pacific which allows you to swim in anything you throw down there ...

GOOD TIME FOR POOL OWNERS TO REVIEW "ABCs of Pool Safety"

COUNTY STARTS REVERSE 9-1-1 EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
Los Angeles County has implemented an emergency mass notification system that will be used to contact County residents and businesses via recorded phone messages, text messages or e-mail messages in case of emergency. Because the "Alert LA County" system uses the 911 database, only land-line numbers are automatically included in the system. If you have a cellular or Voice over IP number and would like to be notified on that device, or if you would like an e-mail notification, you must register those telephone numbers and/or your e-mail address.
