The Neighborhood Safety Task Force focuses on safety and "quality of life" issues affecting
our neighborhood and to find workable solutions. As an organized neighborhood
association, we now have the strength and cohesiveness to be more effective
and proactive for ourselves and with those paid to provide security.
We've developed a three-prong approach at this point:
| 1. |
Educating and empowering ourselves through better and
timely information about crime and security issues via
the Crime Alerts, improved home security resources,
increase in neighbor vigilance and detailed reporting
to law enforcement entities. As the LAPD says, "The best
crime deterrent is a watchful, alert neighborhood."
|
| 2. |
Creating a stronger partnership with the LAPD so they
will be aware of and more responsive to the crime problems
impacting our neighborhood. We've already seem improvement
in this arena. They know we are seriously involved in our
security and that makes them take it more seriously.
|
| 3. |
Exploring additional security strategies we can do as well
as improving the security resources with the alarm and patrol
companies serving our homes.
